Advanced product layout

The Advanced product layout lets you design the products (line items) in your cart in your own words. Describe what you want, for example "show the SKU under the title", and AI builds the layout for you. The preview updates right away.

Use it when the standard options in Product display don't cover what you need: extra product details, badges based on product tags, values from your metafields, or a different arrangement of the line.

Switch to the advanced layout

1. Open Product display

   Go to Cart designerProduct display.

2. Switch the layout

   Click Switch to advanced layout under the section title. Your cart keeps its current look: the advanced layout starts as a copy of your standard settings.

3. Describe your change

   Type what you want into Describe your change and click Send (or press Enter). The preview shows the new layout, and the reply tells you What changed.

4. Save

   Keep chatting until the line looks right, then click Save in the bar at the top. Your store shows the new layout from then on.

What you can ask for

Some ideas to get started:

• Show the SKU, barcode or vendor right under the product title.
• Add "New" or "Bestseller" badges based on product tags.
• Show a "Sale" label when a product has a compare-at price.
• Use product metafields to show the material, care instructions or a short tagline.
• Show a delivery note like "Ships in 2 to 3 days" from a variant metafield.
• Show "Only 3 left" when stock is running low.
• Add a "Top rated" badge for products with great reviews.
• Show how much the customer saves, like "You save 20%".
• Give free gifts a soft green background and a "Free gift" label.
• Move the price to the right, or put a label in front of a value, like "Size: M".
• Highlight personalization, like an engraving text, in its own styled box.

Ask for one change at a time, or several at once. You can also refine the last result, for example "make the badge rounder" or "use our brand red for it". Click the info icon next to Advanced product layout for more ideas.

Every language of your store

Texts the AI adds, like a badge label or "Size:", are written for every language your store has. Mention the wording you want in a language if you have a preference, for example "in German, call it Neu".

Versions, undo and starting over

Every change the AI makes becomes a new Version in the chat, and the one your preview shows is marked Current.

• Restore next to an earlier version brings it back. You can also just ask, for example "go back to the previous version".
• New chat clears the conversation and keeps your current layout.
• Start over resets the layout to the standard look and clears the chat.

The versions stay in the chat while you work on the page. What your store shows is the layout you saved.

When something isn't possible yet

If part of your request can't be built yet, the reply lists it under Some parts aren't possible yet and applies the rest. Click Contact our team to tell us about it, so we can help.

What stays the same

• The advanced layout changes the products in the cart drawer. Upsell products keep their own design under Cart designerUpsells, and the two-step cart keeps the standard product layout.
• While the advanced layout is on, it replaces the Design, Price layout, Product savings and Product information cards. Image display and Advanced price settings still apply.
• Your custom CSS keeps working.

To go back, click Back to standard layout and save. Your advanced layout stays saved, so you can switch to it again at any time.
