NEW: Per-Flow Promotional Pricing With Strikethrough

Run targeted promotions on individual upsell flows without touching your global discount rules.
The Update
You can now enable promotional pricing directly inside any manual upsell flow. Set a percentage discount, and every product in that flow shows a strikethrough price — the original price crossed out with the discounted price next to it. Customers see the savings before they click "Add."
This is different from the global discount rules on the Discounts tab. Flow promotions live inside the flow editor, apply only to that flow's products, and are designed for simple, visible percentage discounts.
How It Works
Enable the promotion toggle in any manual flow, set your percentage, and save. That's it. Every product in the flow immediately shows strikethrough pricing on the upsell card.
Behind the scenes, EliteCart creates a Shopify Automatic Product Discount that applies only when products are added through that specific upsell flow. Products added from a product page don't get the discount.
Per-Product Overrides
Not every product in a flow deserves the same discount. Enable "Allow per-product discount overrides" and each product in the flow gets its own percentage field.
Set a flow-wide 15% discount, then give clearance items 25% and premium items 10%. Products without an override use the flow's base percentage.
Custom Promotion Titles
The discount title appears at checkout, on order confirmations, and on invoices. Set it to something meaningful like "Summer Sale" or "Bundle Savings" instead of the generic default.
Leave it blank and it defaults to "Promotion" — fine for most stores, but a custom title adds a professional touch.
Stacking With Global Discounts
Flow promotions and global upsell discount rules (from the Discounts tab) work side by side, but they never stack on the same product. If a product qualifies for both a flow promotion and a global discount, the highest discount wins.
This means you can run a 15% flow promotion on a "Summer Accessories" flow while a 10% global discount covers everything else. No conflicts, no double-discounting.
How to Set It Up
- Navigate to Upsells → Manual Upsells in your sidebar
- Click on the flow you want to promote (or create a new one)
- Scroll to the Promotion card
- Check "Enable promotional pricing for this flow"
- Enter your discount percentage
- Optionally set a custom discount title
- Optionally enable per-product overrides
- Save
The promotion takes effect immediately. A green "Promotion" badge appears next to the flow in your flow list.
When to Use Flow Promotions vs Global Discounts
Use flow promotions when you want a quick, visible percentage discount on a specific set of products — like a seasonal sale on one flow or a targeted promotion for a product category.
Use global discount rules when you need fixed-amount discounts, collection targeting, Buy X Get Y prerequisites, minimum purchase requirements, or rules that span multiple flows.
Both show strikethrough pricing. The difference is scope and complexity.
